From Farm to Table
Thursday: Participants check in to their inns and join Jeff
for a champagne reception and book signing (From
Vines to Wines, Cellaring Wine, and The Organic Cook’s
Bible). We'll pop the cork, mix and mingle...then walk
across Sonoma Square to the EDK. At the famous
Bridge Table adjacent to the open kitchen, Executive
Chef Justin Everett will delight us with a farm-inspired
menu, paired with Sonoma wines.
Itinerary
Friday: WINE DAY. We head out to Sonoma Valley, where Jeff's classic,
From Vines to Wines, comes alive in the vineyard. Friday's sessions will
feature:
Time in a mountain-top vineyard and a session with its winegrower
A trip to an ancient 150 year old vineyard planted with 23 different varietals
A food and wine pairing demo along with tasting courses
A cave tour, barrel sampling, and picnic lunch at a family wine estate
A tour and tasting at California's oldest premium winery
Late afternoon and evening allows for time exploring Sonoma (Jeff's
restaurant picks, included!). Or you might simply dine al fresco with take-
out on the Plaza, followed by a massage and serious lounge time.
Saturday: FOOD DAY. The group will commence on a culinary treasure
hunt! Taking out to the artisan producers for which the area is so well
known, Jeff will share his extensive knowledge on sourcing the freshest and
best ingredients for the home cook’s table. We'll visit (and taste at)
produce stands, an artisan cheese maker, an olive oil ranch, an oyster farm,
a fish market, and an organic bakery.
Saturday evening: The dinner finale! A hands-on, no-holds-barred, now-
we're-cookin' party at Ramekins Culinary School as we utilize the fresh
ingredients we sourced earlier in the day. Led by Jeff and professional chef-
coaches, we'll prep, pair, and *savor* the fruits of our labors.
Sunday: Satiated Sonoma field trippers begin their journeys home.
